網絡新聞監控|Control over online news editors

國家新聞出版廣電總局發表《關於加強新聞採編人員網路活動管理的通知》,加強管理傳統以至網絡媒體,要求新聞網站和博客的消息以正面宣傳為方針,引導社會輿論,並且不引用、不報導、不傳播、不轉載未經「權威管道」核實的網絡資訊,以「推動形成健康的新聞秩序」。有新浪微博網民以崔健一塊紅布》的歌詞,諷刺中共「其實是蒙住了自己的雙眼,就以為蒙住了所有人的天。」
SARFT (State Administration of Radio, Film and Television) announced new regulation to enhance control over online news editors. Such as editors setting up official Weibo accounts must obtain approval from their work units, all news work units are forbidden from using news/information from foreign media/websites without permission.

蘋果删中國禁書網|Apple bans Chinese bookstore app

以「Think Different」為口號的美國蘋果公司近日又再對中國「低頭」,中國區的App Store把禁書的App「經典書城」下架。其應用程式開發商郝培強月初獲得蘋果通知,指軟件含有在中國屬非法內容,將被删除,卻沒有說明哪些內容違法。郝曾對德國之聲表示:「「蘋果要在中國生存,就不得不低頭。」
Apple has ejected an app that offered access to banned books from its App Store in China, in the latest sign of the technology giant’s willingness to appease the Chinese government.

中國黑客攻擊|Hacking from China

非牟利民間媒體「香港獨立媒體網」上週受到相信來自中國的黑客攻擊,令網站一度離線。根據Cloud Flare的網站分析,有害網址主要來自中國大陸,偏偏網站從2007年起已遭內地封鎖。
Hong Kong-based citizen media (inmediahk.net) was hit by DDoS attack last week coming mainly from China. The website was taken offline by the cloud host due to malicious traffic. Yet, it has been blocked in mainland China since 2007.

今年四月中由共和黨主導的眾議院又通過了全新版本的CISPA,網絡倡議者認為它仍然損害網上私隱,繼續發動抗議,包括黑客組織匿名者。
The US House of Representatives may have voted in favour of the controversial online security law Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) on April 18, but privacy rights activists are not giving up the fight. Among them, hacktivist group Anonymous is calling for various actions, including an “Internet Blackout Day” on Monday, to protest against the law.

沙地亞拉伯:計劃禁WhatsApp|Saudi Arbia: May block WhatsApp

沙地阿拉伯政府近日表示,如果Skype、Viber和WhatsApp等OTT服務運營商不接受政府的監控,將被禁止提供服務。沙地阿拉伯通信和資訊技術委員會的一名官員透露,當地的電信運營商已被告知,應要求OTT運營商提供控制手段。
Saudi Arabia may block access to popular Internet messaging applications like Skype, Viber and WhatsApp if telecommunication providers there don’t comply with rules and regulatory conditions, according to the country’s official news agency, SPA.

孟加拉:抗議博客遭監禁|Bangladesh: Protest against arrest of bloggers

孟加拉警方拘捕博客,指他們在網站發表對伊斯蘭教及先知穆罕默德的攻擊評論,他們可能面對10年監禁和巨額罰款。眾多孟加拉國知名網站及個人網誌以「關燈」抗議。同時,有穆斯林強硬派組織示威要求政府通過反褻瀆法,把得罪先知的博客判處死刑。
Bangladesh Police’s detective branch detained four bloggers for their posts which allegedly insult Islam and the Prophet Muhammad and “hurt religious feelings”. Many popular Bangladeshi blogging platforms and individual blogs have blacked out their websites in protest over the arrests of bloggers. The government has been accused by liberals of appeasing Islamists calling for tough blasphemy laws.
